I have seen my share of good, bad, goofy, gory and comedic anime. I can honestly say that the one I have enjoyed the most, from start to completely satisfying finish, is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
I recommend it to anyone who will listen.

I recommend to watch "5 centimeters per Second". That's a 1 hour long story wherein a childhood love the central topic. The distance between the couple makes that harder to bear and the consequences.
It's really a beautiful story with likeable protagonists.
