I downloaded and can play those files normally. Did you finish download them by using a download manager (like IDM or FDM)? If you're using browser built-in downloader, you should try one.

I've tried downloading these episodes again and still don't have any success with the videos. I've tried via Chrome, Safari, Folx and none are successful. It's strange. Ive downloaded the earlier episodes and don't have a problem. I've also downloaded other dramas with no problems. But the videos for these particular episodes don't seem to work for me. It plays the audio track but the video stalls after the 1st minute or so.![smiley of hixhix]( "hixhix")

Don't use Chrome/Safari/Firefox to download. You will need a download manager, like IDM (Internet Download Manager) or FDM (Free Download Manager).
After that, you should use a supported player, like VLC or KMP.

Thanks for trying to help with this. I've used FDM to download the file and still have no luck playing the video on VLC. I've tried this on 3 different devices with the same problem. Interestingly, the file runs with Quicktime! Just that with Quicktime, I'm not able to add the .srt subtitles.
I'm at a loss because I see that you screen capture using VLC player. I've updated my VLC to ensure that it's not a problem with the app too!

They were all using AV1 codec. Maybe you can try K-lite codec to install full codec for the player?

I'm sorry. You've lost me with codec. are you suggesting I install a particular codec into the VLC player? How do I do that?

Just go to their website (https://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm), download it (I recommend the standard pack). It will auto update your player's codec (and yes they support VLC in the box). They also come with a Media Player Classic so you can try it if VLC not working after.

I've done some reading around and apparently the VLC has some problem playing HEVC .265 for 4k on OSX. https://www.macxdvd.com/mac-dvd-video-converter-how-to/hevc-codec-vlc-player.htm. common symptom no. 1 is what I'm experiencing. However, I've tried everything on the list and am unable to correct the problem.![smiley of hixhix]( "hixhix")

I just compared the earlier episodes with the latter episodes and realised that both use HEVC/265 but the earlier episodes are encoded with hvc1 codec and the later episodes are encoded with hev1 codec. VLC Mac recognises hvc1 but no hev1 thus explaining why I can play the earlier episodes but not the later ones.
