Vampire, in one form or another, is a recurring theme throughout the history of mankind, be it in myths, literature, movies or even anime. And always it is portrayed as an embodiment of evil that must be eliminated by all means possible. So here is this question that often popped into my twisted mind:

If vampire is just another species of sentient being like human and that they just happened to evolve into a predator of human, just like human is a predator to almost all edible life forms on earth i.e. they are a rank above us in the food chain. Would you accept them as a fellow inhabitant of earth or will you try to erase them from the face of earth?

Below are several 'if' that must be taken into consideration for this question...

-if the vampires are near-immortal without the superstitious weaknesses & supernatural powers human assigned to them in the folklores (i.e. although powerful, they can be killed)
-if the vampires are very rare
-if the vampires are physically superior & super-intelligent (necessary to hunt 'intelligent' prey)
-if the vampires only killed enough to survive i.e. not out of greed or blood lust (like human do)

So what will you do...

we have no power to accept them or not, it's just that some person invented that we are superior to anyone, if we had lived with dinosaurs, we would have been inferior, and we would have obviously died

You must remember this: human don't like things different from them. So if Vampires exist, they would never show themselves before us or they'll get killed

I agree that humans would try to hunt down the vampires if they threatens the life that we are living now. Humans are a bunch of dominant race that would like to be on top of the rest. It is the will to win i think

Hmmm... insightful and tolerant opinions. Over the years, wherever I bring up this question, the most frequent replied would be 'Are you mad?' or 'I will hunt them down to the last one'.

I also think that human don't have the right to decide the fate of any of the other species that share this Earth... But sadly this will never be the case, human can't even tolerate themselves, just look at all the pointless conflicts around the globe.

Human tend to 'evaluate' the other inhabitants of Earth, anything that can become a 'utility' to them are considered 'worthy' and are exploited mercilessly (e.g. farm animals), whereas anything that cannot be used (or is not willing to submit to their 'mastery' ) are considered 'junk/pest' and has to be eliminated (e.g. a lot of wild animals, particularly powerful predators like lions, tigers and wolves). They just can't see life as itself is purposeless, all is just living according to the way they evolved to do, there is no 'useful' or 'not useful'. In retrospective, what use exactly are human to Earth, we do nothing but consume all the resources we can lay our hands on and leaving behind nothing but pollutions and death...

Guess there's not any hope for vampires ne... except perhaps in zoo, museums or some research facilities, where scientists subject them to tortures for the 'benefits' of humankind, much like we did to lab mices ne...

Little wonder why 'E.T.' don't make contact with us ne... In their mind they must be thinking what the hell this species of mad monkeys are doing? They are killing their own kind for no reason at all... Better keep away...
