Anyone watched this 'most' anticipated of summer blockbusters yet?
I've watched it last Friday... quite a bit of a major let down for me... It's major merit, action (or should I say 'explosions'
is good, but nothing revolutionary (much as it was in the 1st installment). It felt a bit drawn out/repetitive, lacking any climax, just like Obi Wan vs Anakin in RoTS.
On it's weakest link, story/plot, instead of improving on the mundane failure of the last movie, this time round Mr. Bay looked as if he simply ignored any notion of script/plot and instead dedicate his time to create more pointless explosions, to the point that it blew the entire story/plot/logic into a billion pieces.
A short summary: Just imagine watching explosions after explosions for 2 hours (but strangely no significant casualties(?)), interspersed with some strange focus on 'unhealthy' aspects of teens' social life and women physiques in between...
One notable point would be the strange reference to biblical myth, Optimus and that brat, Sam literally becoming Jesus Christ (minus the cruxifiction and walking on water crap, of course) while the Fallen is highly similar to Lucifer or the 13th Apostle/Judas Priest.
The most memorable thing about this movie would be quotes from Optimus's 'Fate rarely calls upon us on the moment of our choosing' and Starscream's 'Cowards tend to live longer', as well as a 'politically' incorrect portrayal of a certain ethnic group in the form of a certain pair of robotic twins. Another thing that will leave one wondering would be the apparent 'mistake' in the title, 'Transformers: The Resurrection' would have been more suitable, imho...
All in all, an overwhelming assault on one senses to the point beyond pleasure, and leaving one stupefied/dozing off after 2 hours. If you think Spiderman 3 is bad, think again... This is probably one of the worst summer 'blockbusters' ever, at least on my list... Definitely not worth squeezing with the crowds for nor paying for premium ticket... just go watch it after the frenzy has died down and there's a discount on ticket prices... or maybe, just wait for the great Internet edition...
Ok, that's my rant on the movie, hope to hear your opinions soon ne...
p.s. To think that Spielberg actually allowed such catastrophe out under the name of his vaulted DreamWorks is enough to make me worried what would happen to 'Ghost in the Shell' now that they have acquired the live-adaptation right to it...![ark]()

Good thing about movies is that if I didn't expect to watch or I don't know anything about it, then I'll always say they're good. Well, that's mainly because since I don't expect anything, the movie was good enough to have get me to sit down and watch it. I didn't even watch Transformers the first movie. I went to watch Tramsformers 2 is because my friend book me a ticket. For me, it's not a bad movie. It's quite worth my time. I've seen worst. O_o

Having seen blu said so much abt the movie, i was just wondering if he expects too much from the movie. I mean if u follow the first movie, u can notice the director is taking the action path instead of the plot. People just wan to see robots-action. Many are there for the visual effects and the thrill of feeling the momentum of the action. That is why if u pay close attention to the details, u will notice there are a lot of irrational areas and missing links. But like i said, most people are just there to enjoy themselves or quench their curiosity of the most anticipated blockbuster this month.
Anyway, i was just there to see megan foxx. She is still as hot as eva. But i'm sure a lot of guys cant wait to bask in her sexiness as well. I mean, we are guys, God made us that way. So dun shy away and go feel the love my fellow mates.

Though the storyline wasn't really that good but i could say the action was top notch.

The director focused more to action than the storyline..

As mentioned, the plot was a bit weak because all the focus was on the action. The movie was very nice and entertaining.
Megan Foxx is as hot as ever![hey smiley of hey]()

Seems like I'm the only one here who don't think this is a good movie ne... Well, it's a diverse world after all and maybe I'm just the occasional weirdo...
The thing about movie is that, for me at least, the story is like the main ingredient, all the other things like CG backgrounds/effects, actions (& explosions, in this case) etc. are just like spices/seasoning, they are just there to highlight the particular flavor of (to convey the message) and to mask any undesired characteristics (to introduce pause/rest after a revelation/to recapture the audience's attention) of the main ingredient (story)... Just imagine putting too much pepper/salt/vinegar into you meal... what would happen to the food? Would it still be nice? Furthermore, the story in this case is almost non-existence i.e. just like eating an entire plate of pure spices/seasoning. This is not to say that 'spices' are not important, just adequate and not excessive... And at the right moment, sometimes just a few seconds of well choreograph actions will deliver that crescendo/magic touch required to draw in the audiences... instead of scenes after scenes of impact-less actions to the point that it masked out the supposed climax and looked repetitive and boring...
By the way, here is Robot Chicken's tribute to the 'great' Mr. Bay...
Well, that's just my humble view on it all. Just ignore it if you don't like it and you are totally entitled to choose what you like, since you bought the ticket... I'm happy that most of you got a great time for the price you pay. Cheers!!
