I've NEVER download torrent files before. So, I've been wondering whether I should try. But, the problem is I don't know how. Can anyone guide me?

Erm, i am not an expert on torrent but i can give u simple steps
1) Download a bittorrent client like : Utorrent or Bitcomet
2) Search for ur torrent files from sites like : isohunt
3) Open the download with ur bittorrent client
4) Download should start automatically
5) Wait a while and ur files are done
Torrent files are another means of sharing files in the network other than direct download. Ur download speed and upload speed is the key to the overall speed of ur download. For more on speed guides i recommend u to go to utorrent/bitcomet speed guide for more information.
PS: Some countries/locations banned torrent downloads. (From what i know public institutions dont allow torrent downloads. Only more for domestic usage.)

Let me add on to kissmy4ss's very detailed explaination (i'm not an expert too but it just happen that i know and i think i'm right... correct me if anyone thinks i'm wrong)... Torrent works by peer-to-peer.. so meaning that seeders (people who had finished downloading) will upload to you...
Therefore, speed of your download is mainly affected by the number of seeders and their upload speed.. If there is a lot of leechers (people who are downloading) your speed of downloading the file will might also slow down because there isn't that many seeders to provide... However, leechers that might have not finished downloading the whole file can also upload to you because the file is broken down to many smaller pieces and so, they might upload the individual small pieces of file to u..

Well it's pretty simple, Download Bittorrent and install, Now go to some random torrent website and pick the download, careful that torrent websites are full of ads so make sure you're clicking on the right button, download the .torrent file then double-click on the torrent file and bittorrent will pop up with a window where you chose your download destination folder, and then, well that's all!
Don't mess with bittorrent BTW, unless you're good you might mess up, hope I helped.
Pretty simple isn't it?
