Of all the animes we have watched since time unmemorable, there must be some scenes that we found to be touching, powerful, beautiful etc. So which are the scenes you think are most unforgettable and from which animes are they from?

Quite true.. It's too sad. I started watching Romeo X Juliet because i though it'll have a happy ending unlike shakespear's.

Personally, I prefer a sad/tragic, ex machina/cliff hanger kind of ending. Give one something to think/reflec about and to formulate one own idea on the story. A favorite of mind is from the 1998 movie, Jin-Roh. In the final scene, the female protagonist is all teary eyes and begging the male lead, Fuse to leave with her while ironically, he has just received order to execute her. Unaware to both is that Fuse's teammates has taken up a hidden sniper position just in case he does anything stupid (again). The most beautiful moment arrived when there is a gunshot, just one (finishing off the near-hysterical girl), but no one knew whether it's from Fuse's or the sniper's...A powerful scene beautifully executed...

Another of my favorite scene would be from the original Ghost in the Shell (1995) movie. In the final scenes in the museum battle, as the wounded Motoko Kusanagi a.k.a. the Major is about to merge with the Puppetmaster, she saw a vision of an angel descending onto her, while simultaneously, the bullet from a sniper shot through Batou's hand (who was trying to shield her) and blown her head off. A symbolic scene, the essence of unwavering faith, salvation and that final great leap to freedom from the confinement of the physical 'shell' all beautifully distilled down to a few frames...

My favorite scene from 00 Gundam so far would be the final episode of Season 1, when Graham's GN Flag crashed into Exia. Just love the dialogue exchanges between Graham and Setsuna, especially Graham's 'Yes, this feeling, it must be love', 'It is meaningless to ask a soldier why he fight', 'I don't care what will become of the world, I will defeat you with my own free will' and 'Then this is the voice of the world'. Truly the most beautiful scene in the entire 00 series, when the GN Flag and Exia pierced each other and exploded. The GN Flag is probably my favorite mecha from 00: suicidally fast with kamikaze-determination, it is like a deformed monster, simultaneously powerful and also somewhat crippled; a double-bladed sword, deadly to both its enemy and handler alike, killing them both at the same time; and armed only with a simple GN beam saber, the only weapon befitting a true warrior...

Anyone watch Chrono Crusade? Thought the ending was a lil sad. Was a great show though. Code geass ending was another memorable one. I think that's the first anime in which the main character died is it?
