Hello, lots of people like soccer, right ? So tell me what is the best soccer anime in your opinion. For me it's Whistle because the story is close to our daily life story

Captain Tsubasa was the first soccer anime that I've watched, and it was amazing too.

So far I've watched Captain Tsubasa, Off Side, Whistle, Shoot, Kickers, and Wild Striker, any other recommendation ?

Thank you for sharing

I also love captain tsubasa because its you typical anime, "you can do it if you try hard enough" but after I found out how it really ends I don't think I can see it with the same eyes

I didn't like any soccer anime yet, since they always fail miserably to show what that sport is all about. Tsubasa was OK, considering is really old and all, but nowadays is unwatchable except for the nostalgia.
I admit I've never watch the older soccer animes (wild striker, whistle, etc...). But I gave a chance to all that came in the last 7 years, and I didn't even like one of them.
Giant Killing started nicely, but got boring fast mainly because an anime about coachs can't fail that horribly at making clever strategies.
Area no Kishi was nice in general, except for the actual games, that were horrible (the manga is much better than the anime).

And what pains me the most, is that it's my favorite sport, and I love sports animes from almost any other sport so far. Even a sport anime about Kurata (Chihayafuru) can be a masterpiece. Last years Kuroko no basket was also fantastic for example. Not to mention the great ones like Major or Hajime no Ippo. So if the can make a great anime about a guy that cooks bread, why do they always fail to make a good soccer anime i can never understand.
