I've always found that more action-oriented genres come out pretty good in anime, so some good mecha anime like TTGL or Gundam look pretty sweet, and other kinds of action anime like Devil May Cry, Gungrave (both games originally), Speed Grapher, or Blade of the Immortal work pretty well. I can deal with comedy or romance, but I usually prefer those in manga form, like Love Hina or Genshiken. God, I haven't even touched the Love Hina anime yet since I heard some pretty bad things about it. @_@

I think comedy animes are good... It allow us relax by laughing... It's also not as additive as action-oriented genres which we might want to follow up after an interesting ending

My favorite genres are mecha, cyberpunk, supernatural/horror, slice of life/comedy and historical/samurai. Plenty of deep, dark realism/philosophy as well as beautiful~thoughtful violence and gore for me please... For some reason, I really hate stupid, over-optimistic action/fantasy genre...
