In singapore, ODEX makes it a shame for ppl to luv anime. They press ppl to buy their low quality stolen fansub releases and file lawsuits to those who download.

As a fellow Malaysian, I share the same grief as you do. But usually it's just the issue with government policies...

Heck, even that shitty "Upin and Ipin" is shit. I cant comprehend why Malaysian people really love that shit.

One thing la appy, if our country still governed by 'orang lama' so the way of thinking will remain 'cara lama'....for us to produce animation that would rival other developing country will wait 10 or 20 yrs more la.....government want to settle other critical stuff first rather than producing good anime.

@ruilong

Sometimes I really wanna say "In Your FACE!!" to those types of people, because I have the same experience with my family and my friends...

But then I realized as long as they're watching anime, no harm is done, and I get my own satisfaction as well....

makes you wonder about the phrase "happiness in life is found on simple things"

In Indonesia mostly people say the anime is just for child smiley of lonely

they couldnt blame because mostly anime that aired inIndonesia its just for child for ex: doraemon, or asari chan

luckily there are few TV station that aired subbed anime like detective conan, bleach, naruto or one piece, but mostly is repeat the season without new season aired so its getting bored

and its very difficult here to get anime original CD/DVD smiley of nowanna

in Guatemala anime is not something that you usally know, many people think that is the same as cartoons, and really believe that anime is for kids.

a few years ago a anime group was created "anime kudasai", and is trying to make anime popular, and they even organize gatherings of anime fans

Upin & Ipin is just a cartoon, not anime. It's targeted to children. U can't compare it to Japanese or western anime that are already very long & experienced in this industry. U must know, 'To achieve success starts from the very 1st step'.

And also, anime industry in Malaysia is not very big. I'm sure the main players must be thinking of profit than just give entertainment.

Hmm...The state of anime in our country is so-so because a lot of people say that "Hallyu" is the new in. But then again, me and my friends still love to watch and discuss about anime smiley of keke
