i personally recommend CODE GEASS R1 & R2, CLANNAD, CLANNAD AFTER STORY and THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA............there are still more but these are my personal favorite

I second code geass, i also recommend death note, if your interested in one piece then i would recommend to also watch Naruto, Naruto shippuden, bleach and a new one is toriko

haha..naruto n naruto shippuden were my 1st choice b4 downloading one piece.But after watching the 1st episode of one piece, i got stuck with it.huhu.Watching naruto after this..

I love these animes too.. especially CLANNAD AFTER STORY. it really made me cry..
..i also recommend FAIRY TAIL too.. its full of action and comedy.

Yep "fairy tail" is another good choice, might be a little bit too cartoonish though compared to say "Naruto shippuden" Oh and it skipped my mind earlier but i seriously recommend watching

Some good anime, with which i always like to entertain myself are:
Hitman Reborn
Naruto shippuden
Bleach
Blood+
Ghost Stories
Monster
All those are awesome action anime show in my opinion. I never missed any other those anime single episode ever. Yet yesterday i gonna enjoy bleach latest episode 324 and now waiting for Naruto shippuden episode 214. All those anime are complete blend of great action, adventure, sci-fi and thriller stuffs, which all followed by dreadful/fight-full looking anime/manga character. You can choose any of one to get entertain yourself.

Depend on what kind of anime you prefer...
for shoujo and romantic kind, definitely kimi ni todoke, fruits basket, skip beat, kaichou wa maid sama, kare kano
for shounen type...naruto, bleach, hajime no ippo, toaru majutsu no index..etc
